Traveling in the Summertime!
Feel the warmth ... Breathtaking!
Summertime in the Summer!
Magesty in Michigan!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In the early sixties, The Velvelettes were the youngest of all of the legendary
Motown female groups, and they were the most aggressive in their pursuit of
higher education. Best known for the hits Needle In A Haystack and He Was
Really Saying Something, these legends were singers and more. Specializing
in their individual, non-entertainment vocations, the original members of the
Michigan-based quintet, sisters Carolyn “Cal” Gill and Millie Gill, their cousins
Bertha Barbee-McNeal and Norma Barbee (sisters), and their childhood friend
Betty Kelley, were as focused on higher learning as they were on the music
they cherished. Presently, they still tour with the same members and have
joined forces with Hitsville Ventures to further the cause of great music.
