Fair Food Matters’ Can-Do Kitchen offers
expanded hours (Now available 12 hours a
day, six days a week – Saturdays)
Kalamazoo, MI - Having more hours per week and
longer days will help meet the needs of current
clients, according to Program Manager Lucy
Bland. “The expanded schedule also allows for
new clients to join the Can-Do Kitchen.  The 600-
square-foot kitchen is located inside the First
Baptist Church of Kalamazoo (315 West Michigan
Avenue). It offers opportunities to develop a food
business without the large amount of capital
normally required to build and equip a licensed
commercial kitchen. The Can-Do Kitchen also
provides connections to farmers’ markets and
wholesale food distributors, commercial baking
and cooking consulting, and access to small
business consulting.  It is currently home to 10
regular clients, including cooks, bakers, candy
makers and herbal tincture crafters.  The Can-Do
Kitchen is a program of Fair Food Matters, a non-
profit organization whose mission is to build,
educate and advocate to support local food in
southwest Michigan.  For  add’l.  info, contact
Lucy Bland at (269) 492-1270 or
